...

A pic of a Tiger Moth comming in for a landing at the "Old Rheinbeck Aerodrome" in Rheinbeck, NY.

What so special about this pic?
well, nothing except for the fact that I was at the Aerodrome yesterday and actually saw a Tiger Moth with the same color scheme land there. The weather was exactally like in the pic. Smiley

For those who don`t know, the Rheinbeck Aerodrom has a fantastic collection of vintage Aircraft. Many that are regularly flown in weekend air shows. It`s  mainly just a grass airstrip surrounded by trees in Upsate New York near the Hudson River. It`s an amazing place!

You  know what`s amazing, the last time I was there was  over 15 years ago when Cole Palen was still alive and what changed since then? Absolutly nothing! Smiley

I was worried the the place would change too much with Cole`s passing but, was glad to see they are keeping his spirit alive.

Since you were recently there, and I don't remember much, can I ask you somethin'?  I know they got Camels and Fokkers there, but are there any WWII warbirds?

No, no WWII warbirds.
The Aerodrome is patterened somewhat like a WWI landing strip and a WWII aircraft would seem out of place there.  It`s only suited for slow flying aircraft.
Pre WWII aircraft was Cole Palen`s passion.

Their web site has a complete list (with pics) of all the planes they have.

Sock, Here`s a scene you should find familiar.
...
From a distance it actually does look a little like the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge.
Beautifull country up there!

For those who don`t know, the pic  is in the imediate area of the Aerodrome.
