So, you're using a FSDS1 model in FS2002/2004?.

Keep in mind that FSDS1 came out before the FS2002 SDKs, and the model information was based on, basically, hacking through the years.

Floatplanes/Seaplanes/Amphibians in FS2000 were a matter of trial and error, especially since, in the earlier sims, landable water wasn't everyrwhere.

To request a "gmax" model, doesn't necessarily mean a "better" flying model.  THAT depends on the modeller.

For that matter, you can take the default Caravan amphibian's aircraft.cfg file, port it to your FS2000 AN2V and tweak it to land properly on the water.  Animations may still not "work" properly because of the model type differences.

I dare say that you probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a model made in gmax or FSDS2...

the machine has a FS2002-type aircraft.cfg, but it looks horrible compared to my 2 other An-2's (Aeroflot Polar Wheel/Ski from fscargo and another one in Aeroflot agricultural colors from flightsim.ru)

Check this image out... it's an FSDS*1* fsc (source file) An2 by Paul Clawson.  Is that the visuals you have?

I believe that there are newer An-2 models that were made after this one.

the antonov on floats is a CFS2 machine made by Tim 'Piglet' Conrad... i got it from flightsim.ru but it could be hanging around on other websites too

my land-based An-2's are all GMAX models, one by Vladimir Zhyhulskiy (Aeroflot polar, wheel and ski) and one by Anton "Xomer" Nikolaev in Aeroflot agricultural and DOSAAF colors
