Saw some shots of a similar approach at the freeware section, so I decide to give it a go with the PMDG 737. The Rwy choice was off course the challenging 09. Too bad I can't have a good scenery installed..screws my frame rate
The livery I choose for the flight...America West don't fly here in real life, but I love those paint jobs of theirs
Approaching St. Maartens at around 4200 feet AGL. The wheather is a pleasant view, as always in the Caribbean
Making final approach preparations. The front cruise value is abit off, but since I can't and wont use autoland it doesn't matter
A light crosswind from the left is what welcomes me to the Netherlands Antilles
Passing the treshold going a little bit too fast I later found out.
Touch down, some feet to the right of the centerline, but I'm satisfied...even though I missed the touchdown markers by some hundred feet
That's it, all in all a very good flight. Departed out of Miami Int. using the POTTR2.PADUS STAR for 09R, if somebody wants to know.

Be prepared tho, the aircraft is not for the average simmer, expect many hours of manual reading

Thanks, would you say it's worth the money. The Overhead looks pretty good. And do you use it for 2004? If so, is the overhead in VC mode workable?

Is it worth the money???
OH YES!
I could go on forever raving about this faboulous aircraft.
It handles like a dream when you fly it, the FMC is fully working, you can do basically the same programming as real 737 pilots.
Almost every knob and switch is working, both in 2d mode and in the VC (FS2004 only).
You also get the new version of FSUIPC, it is included with the aircraft.
Simply put, this aircraft makes the default 737 look really bad and unrealistic.
I just love it

P.S.
I've tried the MelJet 777, and that thing killed my framerates. What are your specs and does this affect your framerate?

Well, to be honest, the PMDG 737NG is an FPS hog. It requires a very good CPU and GPU and MEMORY!
I runt the plane on a Athlon XP2100, Gforce 4 ti4600 and 512mb ddr-ram. On ground the FPS is about 15, in the air about 30.

Thx Nexus,
I guess I'll wait for an upgrade before thinking about payware.
