do any guys here no a good way to stop razor burn and those annoying little spot type things, from appearing after shaving. i have tried using both manual and electrical razors, and neither make a differance, also tried various lotions and moisturisers(woah never thought i'd admit that:)LOL) and they still appear, its nothing major just wondering if any guys here have been able to get rid of that occurance or if it just eventually goes away over time.
Cheers
Craig

It's all about the cream
My girlfriend gets me this stuff:
Close Shavers Squadron Ultimate Brushless Shave Cream - Green Eagle
http://www.kiehls.com/Default.aspx?p=434&sc=281&st=0&cc=1
coincidentally it has an aviation theme! Works wonders and Mint is a natural astringent.

Make sure you're using a very very sharp blade. Even though it's expensive, I'd suggest trying different types of manual razors too. Or, worst case scenario, do a google on it. Surely there's something out there!
(I recommend the Gillette Mach 3, if you're able to get it where you live!)
Great edit, Bob.&&&&&&Google it. &&&&

My skin is too sensitive, I have to use electric. I do know that if you keep going back and forth between a razor and an electric, your skin will not get "comfortable" with which type you are using!
You need to find the perfect combo for your skin...
the cream, the razor and the method!

Yeah, Craig, I gots it too. The only way I have found to get totally rid of the damn things is to shave in the shower, where its nice and steamy and hot. This usually helps any skin malady. And make sure you shave every day. A week of this, and they will be long gone. Miss a day, and they all come back.
OR you could go with the wuss's way out, and go buy some pansy cream. BE A REAL MAN! (Just Kidding, guys . . .)
The reason they happen is the direction your hairs grow out of your face. When a follicle emits a hair, it grows in a certain direction, according to the temperment of the hair (straight, curly, etc.) The follicle forms a shape similar to a hershey's kiss, with a litle tip at the end that the hair grows out of. The tip then folds over, just like the tip of a hershey's kiss does, making the hair lay down on the face, resulting in a smooth and even beard. Otherwise, we'd all go around looking like we stuck our thingies in a light socket. This means there is a certain direction the hairs hang in, but for many men, the direction is not uniform. The razor catches the tip of the "hershey's kiss" and nips the end off with the hair, irritating the follicle, which puffs in response. That's what causes it.
There is a medical name for it, and many medical fixes, but I don't know a one, and don't really care. My method works and I am sticking with it!

In fact, I think I'm going to go around the neighborhood and randomly fix people's cars.
UPDATE: Here's a pic of Sarah, my beautiful girlfriend of nearly two years. Be grateful I'm not in it. (But yes, we're real. As soon as I find one of both of us that's worthy of public display, you'll all see it.)

It also helps if you run your razor blade under really cold water, this keeps the blade as hard as possible. (therefore sharp as possible)

I have a feeling Ozzy will have a comment on this part, but I read once that if you store your razor blades in Vodka, it keeps them sharper because it prevents them from rusting.
Either that, or you just don't feel it when you slice your jaw open from ear to ear....

This has nothing to do with this topic but doesn't our friend Pippin look like he could be a Hobbit?
I only pretend to know what I'm talking about. Heck, that's what lawyers, car mechanics, and IT professionals do everyday.

I have to say that at first I thought Paz's pic of him and his brothers at that wedding looked like something out of the end of a Van Halen video. (is it Hot for Teacher where they all show up in white tuxes at the end?)
