Hi all,
Why does the FFX Boeing 737 tear off on its own at full power after using 'Skew', and is there a correction available ???
Eagerly await,

Regards,

Hi Tony, haven't seen you for a few days.
Err silly question, but when you are in slew mode do you touch the joystick at all?

Hi Mark, thanks for reply, Yes I do use the joystick to slew. I assume this is the problem? No, I haven't been around for a while. I had a disc split in my back and have been really ill and non mobile. But have now been discharged from physio at Wyc General, and hope to get back to work soon, although light duties. Been off for 14 weeks now, could not contemplate computer as too much pain, but I am back with a vengeance now.
Regards,
Tony

Hi mark, Further to last reply, have just slewed using arrow keys, and as soon as I hit 'Y' again, it was off like a shot and airborne in seconds, and I could not do a thing about it. Is it a cfg. problem? Await with interest Grin

Speak to you soon,
Tony

PS. like the bent spit. I done that yesterday online with atc landing at Jersey. I have to say though, Atc gave me duff info, got to point of no return and could not recover. Stalled and went straight in. What did he say Grin Taxi to terminal. I said 'Er, gone in meant crashed, sir' Grin Reply... Take what is left to terminal in a bag Grin Who said online flying is not fun. Wink

Is this happening on just that one aircraft?  For me it happens on all, and its because once the gear leaves the ground even one centimeter, the sim doesn't care if you are at one foot or 100,000 ft, it puts the throttle and rpms at 100%.  The way I found to keep this from happening is just hit F2 (move down) after you have finished slewing around.

I've also experienced this problem with the FFX 737-500.  It's a great plane, this is really the only difficulty I've experienced with it.  But I'm trying to condition myself out of using slew mode for anything anyway.  lol

Hi guys,
Thanks for interest. I do not have a problem with any other aircraft, only FFX. I have just tried a Boeing 737-300 and it was off at full speed. I do not usually have to use slew, but the 737 of my VA is an FFX job. They are really excellent planes, and fly well. However, on the odd occasion when needed to slew, everything goes out of the window. Angry
There is probably one of you geniuses out there will come in with the simplest of answers, but until then, we all wait in hope Cry

The simplest answer is to just not slew. lol  You really shouldn't NEED to do it, so why bother?

Hi chaps,
I appreciate what you and Hyperion say about slewing, Andrew, but as I am not the brightest in the bunch, when it comes to Afcad, etc, there are times when I need to be where I am not!!! I suppose the answer is to change aircraft, get into position, then change back. As I said earlier, I do not normally use slew, but sometimes when starting at an airport, the aircraft sometimes creep forward ( usually my fault for not having throttle shut properly) so I just go for the easy way out. Just doesn't work with FFX, Thanks for all replies, regards to all,
Tony

The one thing that I use slew for is to find the co-ordinates for new airport locations.  It is way quicker than flying.
