Danke, und es ist Oberleutnant Stern zu du! Wink Actually, I think the Do. 335 is one of the ugliest planes of the war.  I really think the Me-163 should have taken it's place, in my humble little opinion. 8) Not to mention it was used more, I think.

i don' tknow very much about the usage of the 163,but the Do335 would have been a very effective and fast fighter and bomber.

I hate the Do335. Anyplane that can be out turned by a P38 should not be a fighter! Tongue

The 163 was kind of a useless plane. Although it was fast, it was dangerous to fly. It took the life of many a pilot. It also had a very short range, making it useful only as a front line interceptor glider. In my opinion, it would have been nice to see the He111 instead.

The reason I like the Me. 163 so much, is it fits my flying style perfectly.  Get in the action quick, don't get hit, because one hit usually spells doom, and land on your first try.  When it succeeds it's terrifying, when it fails, which it often does, it's embarassing.

Still no match for a Spitfire.  Grin
A single Sparrow II missile from my favorite aircraft, the CF-105 Arrow, would incinerate such a craft. Amazing how far aviation came in only 10 years. From rocket fighters to the first modern bisonic military jets.
