Recently bought mfs 2002.  Installed on pent 3 650 mhz  running win 98 works fine.

Tried to install on a brand new computer running xp and I get poor sound quality. This pc has surround sound speakers and The sound is distorted doing the tutorials. Turned engines and etc down and the sound is better still crackling.
I have tried several changes such as resolution. Runs best at 640x480 16 bit.

I have lowered the volume settings and all.

I am missing something here. Can any one help.

What is the best setting to run this game???

I have a double hard drive so memory should not be a problem.

Thanks

Is it possible that it is a problem of shared resources?  You should be getting better sound performance than that!

If the sound card is sharing resources with other hardware, such as the graphics card, then moving it to a different slot could make a difference. Undecided
