FS2002 Mustang P-51D AI FDE Done (Read 171 times)

The FDE files to make Andrew Wai's Superb P51 Mustang into a great AI plane are now in the download section of my website.

...

I've added FS2002 nav lights etc that the original bird didn't have

...

Not only that, cockpit lighting that you can see from the outside as well  Wink

...

I've also included a replacement aircraft.cfg in the download so you can add these to your original flyable aircraft if you want.

The AI flies great - torque pull to the left when power first applied, straightens up and takes off. On landing flairs for a lovely three-pointer with just a little bounce (just like in real life!)

Edit added
???
I've just found out that the internal cockpit lighting that you can see from outside works great with the flyable aircraft but doesn't work on the AI. Looks like a little feature that M$ missed out - prob to save on FR.

But the other lights all work fine. Don't forget that if you don't want em all you can just delete lines from the aircraft.cfg file

Do a search for andrew wai on flightsim

It's currently the file on the top of the list

Regrettably the aircraft is almost completely unflyable as it's totally unstable in pitch, roll and yaw especially at speeds approaching anything like landing!

I'm just so busy right now to sort it. I've just got to get some more done on Kai Tak.

Any volunteers who know their way round fde files to do the biz?

I'll take a look Roger. I've got a fair bit of experience in this field.

Great

At the moment she's like a beautiful girl....with bad teeth!

Actually, just flew her again. I had a partially edited file. The original isn't that bad and doesn't need too much work to tidy it up
