Duxford, summer 1944
P-47D Thunderbolts of the 82nd Fighter Squadron, 78th Fighter Group USAAF, prepare for a seek and destroy mission in occupied France.
Heavy with fuel and ammo, the 82nd gets airborne.
82nd on the prowl.
An enemy airfield makes for a juicy target!
The business end! A spot of strafing.
The defenders scramble and it all kicks off.
A classic dogfight.
With no ammo left and only fumes in the tank, the sight of Duxford is a very welcome one indeed.
Now, the ground crew need to patch her up before another big day tomorrow.
Thanks to Sock for reminding me how great this plane is

Well your welcome! I'll get the rest of those pics up Sunday night or Monday morning. Great shots of a great plane. Did you get that Fokker?

One Fw 190D Destroyed, one damaged. My wingman got another but my flight lost one plane.

Ken pal, Duxford has both, but the Jug likes the hard one better

Thanks pal, glad you like them. The plane is one of the K M Thunderbolts (one of three in the collection called KM_P-47_Pack_4-6_DP). All the scenery is from here at Sim V. The Duxford set is the GZR Duxford scenery. It's quite old now, but it still looks great and is easy to install.
