I haven't been able to use CFS3 at all because my PC is just not powerful enough.
However, I just managed to get 384Mb Ram into it and also was able to 'cheat the 'config' into allowing my Intel intergrated graphics to be accepted by the Sim (thanks to the Intel site 'cheat info' for cards that are, by default, not recognised as good enough by the Sim).
I have used th CFS3 Sim on a PC at work which is a little better than mine but I've never seen the film on it. I used to 'click' past it to save Ram and get to the game itself.
My question is about the 'introductory film' which I saw for the first time last night. (It's quite good actually - love that Yank general's voice at the 'map table' - kind of a 'gravel guts' version of Patton..........lol
)
The characters and the majority of the film are Comp. Generated (Virtual Reality I think it's called) but when you see the Fighter Airfield. The sign, the buildings, the cammo netting and especially the P47's taking off, it seems the quality of the film takes a turn toward the 'real'.
Is it possible that at least, some of that part of the film is an actual film that has had the CG stuff added? It seems so realistic.
P.S. With the 384Mb of ram I was able to fly a couple of 'single missions' - one in a Mozzie to get a tank column and another in a Typhoon to attack a Locomotive.
I must say the Sim is very different from CFS2 or 1 and the flight realism seems to be much closer to that of the 1% planes I have for CFS2. But, alas, as for the scenery, I can't comment. The graphics quality at default setting 1 is woeful, to say the least. What setting do you have to be on to get the marvelous pics that I sometimes see in the 'Screenshots Gallery'.
