Hello Fellow Aviator's,
Just quickly,
Is there any reason why I would of lost my engine sounds after editing a panel in CfgEdit???
I've checked the aircraft.cfg, sound is aliased to the King Air 350 which works fine.
The only other thing I can think of is I installed Project AI and modyfied some flightplans.
Any suggestions

I can't think of any reason. You backed up your original panel.cfg file, didn't you? Restore that and if the problem goes away it was somewhere in the modified panel.cfg. Then just add/subtract your modifications one at a time until the sound drops out again and you've found your culprit.

The panel should not affect the engine sound in any way. The Aircraft.cfg entry would normally be
sound=
with no following entry. This is not usually changed.
The sound is defined/aliased in Sound.cfg in the Sound folder of the particular aircraft.

Yeah Thanks Fella's
WebbPA, I will try that incase something's gone a miss, but not being able to sleep last night, I worked out that it was first lost the minute I added an airport I created, the remark packercolinl made about me getting carried away with FS is probably right, but I won't learn anything sitting on my butt!!!
Hagar, the aircraft.cfg has the sound=blank, the sound folder for the aircraft shows it's alaised with the king air.
Packercolinl, your telling me!!!!! I have, two airports, 1 repaint, a new aircraft and about 400 flightplans, but hey, one day you might just download one of my project's and be amazed!!!!
Thanks Again

I'm back fella's,
Found out it must be somthing to do with the panel, (maybe a sound file with a certain gauge).
After trying a lot of things, I simply went to settings>assignments>reset defualt settings>ok
Funny enough, everything works!!!!!!!
(Not only the sound missing, but the "W" key wouldn't function either.)

Glad you fixed it. I still can't figure out how tweaking a panel can affect the sound or change your keyboard assignments. ???

Yeah I don't know Hagar,
I don't know much about the ins and outs of certain gauges, but I think it has something to do with a gauge that includes a toggle switch, ( say landing light for example), but this switch comes with a sound as you activate it. Since my last post earlier on today, I modyfied the panel again and the same thing happened.
There's about 6-8 gauges that use the sound/s and I haven't got anything else to replace them with.
In my gauge list, I have the following:
DFD_SOUNDSW1.GAU
The list of these goes down to about eight.
Do you know what these gauges are used for??
Thanks again

Some gauges (switches) do have associated sound files. I don't know much about them but these are the ones that often cause those "incompatible 3rd party software" error messages in FS2002. I would think that if you have them installed & working in the original panel they came with they would work on another panel. If you continue to have problems I suggest you look around for simple switches without sound files.

Yeah Thanks Hagar,
I kind of figured that would be the case.
I've searched the net a bit but can only find FSGauges for downloading gauges. And I can't veiw the gauge before its downloaded. Do you know of any other sites, that I can download from???
(Don't need an answer right away)
Thanks mate

It would help if I knew the type of panel you're working on & what the switches are for. There's a lot more 3rd party gauges of all types available nowadays. Some will be in the XML format which CfgEdit can't read. These can be added manually to Panel.cfg.
There's 2 ways of doing this.
Look through the SimV FS2002 Panels section for a panel including the type of switches you want.
If you can't find anything suitable in the Gauges section here you could try a search for something like toggle switch or switch gauge at Flightsim.com. Dai Griffiths of Dragonflight Design has posted some excellent gauges on the various FS sites..

Hi Hagar,
I won't bore you just yet on the type of panel, and the switches I require, I appreciate your advice and shall battle on trying to rectify the problem/s.
Thanks again
