I am having trouble getting the GMAX A-1H skyraider to work on this site. I have tried files ("updated") from FS2002 Vintage page 1 at the bottom, and older version on CFS2 Aircraft pages 19 and 23. They are all the same filename "GZRA1Hv1.zip". I follow the directions on the readme file. Went to a seperate website to get the weapons. Loaded into stated folders. Nothing shows up on the aircraft list in Free Flight. Didn't check other menu options. But I loaded the SAAF Spitfire from here just fine. Although, that ran off an install file. The skyraider is just a plain .zip file

thanks

i suspect you didn't install it properly. Never extract zipfiles direct to the sim. I suggest you use the method in this tute. http://www.simviation.com/acinstall.htm
If the "Aircraft Container" folder is hidden inside another one it won't show up. This is a very common problem.

I have tried the article and followed it to a "T". I unzipped the folder to a seperate  folder on my desktop, not the CFS2 directory. I found that there was an "A-1H" folder inside the "skyraider" folder. I assume this is the one I am supposed to put in "Aircraft" in the CFS2 directory. Also, I got the weapons from a different site, ("wep") and put them in the CFS folder. Should that go in the texture folder? Also, I put the gauges in the CFS2/gauges folder. The only thing I can think of is that there was yet ANOTHER zipped folder inside the "A-1H" folder. I suppose I should unzip that one as well before putting it in the CFS2 folder. I guess the gist of all this is, I want to make sure that I am putting everything in the right folders. Would one of these install utilities on the "Utilities" page work?

happs01. Those install utilities are all very clever but I strongly suggest you learn to do this properly. It's not difficult & once you understand the basics I guarantee you won't regret it. Wink

First, make sure you have the CFS2 version of the aircraft. This should be ready to go where the FS2002 version is almost certainly different & might not even be compatible. If you still have problems you might find my Aliasing article useful. http://www.simviation.com/lair/aliasing1.htm

The weapons go in the CFS2\SCENEDB\weapons folder. BGL files to Scenery & any BMP textures to Texture. Paste the DP files into CFS2\OBJECTS_DP.

PS. I just downloaded GZRA1Hv1.zip to check it out. It's all ready to go without modification. The A1-h folder is the one to paste into CFS2\Aircraft. There are 4 versions of the aircraft. They should be listed on the Free Flight menu as A-1H Skyraider Navy, A-1H Skyraider USAF etc. You might like to paste a copy of the file included in Prop_in_cfs2.zip to each of the 4 texture.xxxx folders.
