Hi there,
I screwed something up and I can't seem to fix it. I was messing about with my hardware settings in the game and with my graphics card settings (Gforce MX440). I did not like the results that I had achieved so I set it all back to normal. Everything was working perfectly before I started this.

Anyway now I am getting a message on start up that says the following. 'Safe mode has been enabled because your system can no longer support hardware acceleration'

I am unable to effect any changes in the game and can't get it back to normal. It has basically gone into some kind of safe mode and won't allow me to do anything.

Please help, any suggestions, please!!!
Eric

This is a long shot. Start FS2002 & go to Settings/Display/Hardware. Make sure your GeForce card is selected as the "Fullscreen Device" & check the "Enable hardware acceleration" box.

Thank you for the response. I did try that but it did not work. I'm not sure what I did but I finally got so freaked out that I just did a 'system restore' and luckily I had a restore point yesterday. It worked and everything is back to normal, but I guess I'll never know what I did!

Anyway thank you and please disregard this post.

If memory serves, there's also a check box in the Windows Control Panel, under Display>Advanced Settings that will enable Hardware Acceleration.
I betcha that was disabled.

Glad you fixed it.

Ya, those two are quite bitchy, neither one affects the other, so even if you enable one, the other one may not work. However, turning one off turns the other off, turning one on leaves the other off. Angry
