I'll admit that for an adult to say it, I wouldn't personally consider it foul language, but it's also not something I'd want a five year old to say.
I think that it's up to the parent(s) to determine what their child should or should not be saying...

When it comes to the forums, the moderators are the ones whom I support fully. They've got a very difficult job to do, and they're not getting paid a cent to do it.
If this is an issue of you v. mods, I'm going to have to be behind the mods.
They're here to make this a place we can all enjoy. I don't necessarily agree with all their decisions, but they are the ones who have been charged with that responsibility, and I'll respect them for that alone.

There is no control as to who may view this
site, it is our place to set Flight Simming above
the 'games' that parents may not wish their
children to partake of!!!
The word itself is not offensive, but it opens the
door to others!!

I think he's trying to make it one, and it's not working.
Anyone who has been here a while will agree that the moderators are very giving, and they don't just use their "power" to be a**holes...they use it very responsibly and should be commended for it.
And for those who think they're capable of being a mod, I agree with Brad...stick around, pay your dues, and see if you're chosen as one when the current mods leave.

Swearing doesn't offend me (I worked on the shop floor for years) but I prefer not to see it in the forum. There's such a thing as standards. I like to think I can express myself adequately without resorting to swear words, even the milder ones.

Dittos Hagar.
As a Marine, I heard every word under the sun, and on very rare occasions, I'll use them. But for the most part, my mouth is very clean, and I prefer to keep it that way.
An intelligent person needs not curse to get their point across. In fact, an intelligent person will get said point across without foul language...
Calciumcowpat, if you're trying to start something here with the mods, I'd suggest you think again. You may think you can do whatever you want, but I assure you, the mods here take their task very seriously, and trying to cause trouble here isn't something that they have historically supported...

With people like Ozzy Osborne out there, swear words will probably merge into our normal f%$#ing conversation in the next 20 years. Why the f@%$ would people get offended by something as simple as a word? Too many god d%$* sensitive people out there I guess. To thoes people, I say kiss my a$$.
This is what happens when I haven't said anything for a while.
Good satire though. I should probably go find something constructive to do.
I only pretend to know what I'm talking about. Heck, that's what lawyers, car mechanics, and IT professionals do everyday.

LOL Orenda....
I agree that people are too sensitive in the world, but that doesn't change the fact that there are rules here, and its our responsibility as members to abide by them...like 'em or not, they ARE the rules, know what I mean?

Thought for the day: When the traditional swear words become acceptable in everyday conversation, what do we do when we're really mad & want to cuss?
I can just see it now. "I hit my thumb with a hammer. Oh botheration.................!" Somehow it doesn't have quite the same effect for me.

Myth:The word "crap" is derived from Thomas Crapper's name.
Fact: The origin of crap is still being debated. Possible sources include the Dutch Krappe; Low German krape meaning a vile and inedible fish; Middle English crappy, and Thomas Crapper. Where crap is derived from Crapper, it is by a process know as, pardon the pun, a back formation.
The World War I doughboys passing through England brought together Crapper's name and the toilet. They saw the words T. Crapper-Chelsea printed on the tanks and coined the slang "crapper" meaning toilet.
The legend of Thomas Crapper takes its flavor from the real man's life. While Crapper may not be the inventor of the product he is most often associated with, his contribution to England's plumbing history is significant. And the man's legend, well, it lives on despite all proof to contrary.
A bit of crap trivia.....
"I have a place where dreams are born, And time is never planned. It’s not on any chart, You must find it with your heart."
Albert Einstein - "Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe."
Martin Luther King Jr. - “Nothing in the world is more dangerous than a sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.”
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe - “There is nothing worse than aggressive stupidity.”
Mark Twain - “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.”

calcium cow pat. Uuuhhh well yeah swearing shows lack of intelligence because you can't substitute those words with meaningful ones.
Hey even I use them too often but most people do. Maybe your trying to establish your individuality by showing your self to be a "rebel". Rebels never get nice high paying jobs though. You gotta realise this before you can do whatever you want.

I spent Six years in the Marine Corps and 15 working as a mechanic. The result is a mouth that makes a longshoreman blush. I try to keep it G-rated here though, because of the nature of what we're doing. I'm sure this sight holds an appeal for the young kids, as well as us old ones. Now that I have a young daughter, this is a subject which is relevant to me. I spend a lot of time in Jamaica, and as result, pick up a lot a phrases. So if I cuss now, I try to do it in Jamaican. Although I don't know if the end result is what I was looking for??? My daughter now walks around the house calling the dog a "Boomba Clod!"
.....so I loaded up the plane and moved to Middle-EEEE..........OIL..that is......

But I'm not English so I can say that.
Just thought I'd lighten things up around here. As most of you know, things have been getting too serious around here lately.

calciumcowpat used this word earlier, so if he has a bone to pick he should pick it with me.
Frankly he was asking for help (which I provided) and after the recent trouble I asked him not to use course language please, as I'm sure we all remember what happened.

This topic is being locked as anyone ungrateful enough when offered help to criticise that person for a perfectly reasonable request to politeness and no unnecessary swearing doesn't deserve a bit of help.
And they sure won't be getting it from me. I give of my time here, and I feel I do a pretty good job of helping people, and I don't need this kind of bull from some semi-literate ingrate who has been here five minutes.

I've been reading this topic with quite a bit of amusement...LOL. Crap? A bad word? What a joke! We regularly tell teachers at school they're talking a load of crap (sometimes we even tell them they talk sh*t!) and they don't do tell us off for swearing...just being cheeky...LOL. And I'm not a kid either. I'm old enough to have left school, but I didn't. Im there because I want an education. I'm not a Ned or anything...LOL.
But I will use swear words...do quite often infact. I can't help it, they just slip out...
...crap's a good now to use when an adult's within earshot. Also, I know a Marine, so I hear a lot of stuff to make rock stars blush...LOL.
Swear words don't offend me. And crap is not a swear word. It's not a polite word to use either, but...that's another story, you know?
I think someone's made a big fuss of this in another topic I haven't seen and it upset this cowpat dude. Nice name he picked, heh? Suits him...he talks crap and is named after one!
Ooops...shouldn't have said that!
