Could someone out there make an aircraft carrier that you can pilot and other aircraft can land on.

I'm not sure that is possible with FS in its current form.  Flyable objects (aircraft) have no "flat" surfaces on them to hold up any other objects.  The only way you can land on something other than the ground is if it has been "flattened", which means the area is wiped clean and then an altitude is set for the ground.  The flattening technique will only work for that area, as well.  If the object moves, the area where it was will stay the same altitude, regardless of whether the object is there or not.

This is all what I have gathered from looking around at other addons, and I have no idea if it is correct.  Its only what I think is possible or not possible, so don't quote me.

In terms of the landing on/taking off bit, there is a payware add-on; it's called, variously, Carrier Ops or Flight Deck III depending upon which side of the Atlantic you hail from.  It includes the program Arrestor Cables, so you can simulate catapult launches and arrested landings.  Carriers don't move, but it still adds another dimension to FS2002.

Someone made the USS Akron, zeppelin with an aicraft catcher on the bottom. how it works exactly i don't know but i think it's in a fixed position, just as that 'Independence Day' saucer thing

Lago is in the works of making a carrier that turns into the wind when they release their F-18.

More than likely the end of this year Smiley

The closest thing I could think of to that is to make the flaps or landing gears animation as an aircraft taking off or landing.  That would be pretty cool.  8)  Maybe I'll take a shot at it when I'm done with my current projects...

Is that somewhere on here?  It would be interesting to give it a go!
