I have a gameplay question about missions involving attacks on shipping.  I can never get any of the AI aircraft that are flying with me to attack anything.  I've tried both giving the general attack order (pressing the "a" key) and giving the attack my target order (selecting a specific ship using the "tab" key and then pressing "a") and my wingmen reply "affirmative, starting attack" but then never attack anything.  This problem only occurs when attacking ships, they attack like they're supposed to against land targets.  Are other people having this problem, and if so has anybody figured a way to make your wingmen attack?  In case you're wondering I am doing the American campaign, flying a B-26C.

It's probably better that they don't.  Every time I managed to get them to attack my wingmen would dive into the sea at full throttle.  You've reminded me why I binned the game in the first place Grin

By the way it is jus a question of waiting a loooooong time.  Order them to attack and then fly in circles around the outside of the attack zone, they usually go in in the end.

Sort of on the same topic.
Does anyone know a way to get your whole wing to attack, usually for ground targets it's just one or two wingmen, or maybe I'm imagining it.

Hi,

There is a patch available from the microsoft web site that fixes a few problems with cfs3 including wingmen attacking shipping.

Also to get the entire flight to attack one target, just select a target and press the attack button around 4 times. Ive found if you only press it once only a pair will attack that target

A problem I have found from time to time is that when flying an aircraft intercept mission, my wingmen will refuse to attack the enemy, leaving me to take on the whole german airforce. I should have em shot!

I've downloaded the patches, so I know ithat's not it.  Like Smoke2much said it must just be a matter of loitering over the target until the wingmen get around to attacking.  But anyways, thanks for the answers guys.

Here is the way to attack a convoy and get your entire wing to attack AS ONE!!!

Start your attack from about 20 miles out. Get the entire wing down to 100 feet and fly towards the convoy. When you get the convoy in site DO NOT SELECT A TARGET but tell the wing to attack. When you get within attack range all the wing will attack a differant ship leaving one left for you. Take out that ship and go home. Wink

If you do it right you should get a view similar to this...

...

Happy hunting!!! Grin

How to post a screener...
First off, upload your pic on one of the many free image uploader sites available. Heres a link to the one I use;

http://zert0.net/upload/

Once you've uploaded it, It'll give you an image URL you can use in your posts. You make it display by adding the commands  [/img] at the end of the URL, and [img] at the start of the URL. Easy when you know how. I had a feeling that 7 week course I did on web design would come in useful one day.
