I went to Heathrow with My sister as she had to find a Hotel. Anyway, on the way back we decided to get a McDonals
So we got it in the Drive-thru and sat in the car park to eat it...while we was there I heard a
really
loud engine starting up....it was the concorde.
I cannot believe just how loud it was, felt like the earth was shaking, some car alarms even went off!
Is it really noisy on them if anyone has ever been on one? ???

I've had one take-off over my head at Heathrow one night (was visiting the girlfriends grandfather who lives on the flightpath).
Even my jeans were vibrating as it shot overhead with the dancing diamonds coming out the back.
Cool ain't it?

I have stood 150 yds to the side (parallel with the numbers) of a main runway (23R YYZ) when a Concord departed......I had Wendy on my cel-phone at the time.....she said it was so loud she didn't need the phone to hear it and she was on Vancouver Island at the time.........
........yeh, it gets quite loud when they light up the back end (Re-Heat/Afterburner) for take-off power
.....been in the same location to see a B-1B, SR-71, F-4, F-5, F-104, F-106, F-111, F-15, F-16, F-18 and Harriers, including the AV-8A+B depart and its all the same kind of noise, but I think the Olympus sounds a bit better, from what I remember........Concord Rules......ok ruled
