Did you try directing the extract path for the auto-install to a Temp folder? You could then install it manually in the usual way. That usually works.
I can't guarantee that it will be compatible with CFS2. You will have to try it to find out. The FS2002 default scenery certainly won't be compatible so there's no point in purchasing it just for the scenery. It's possible to add the FS2000 default scenery to CFS2 but you might be disappointed with the terrain.

I don't think it will be listed on the CFS2 selection menu or be detailed enough to show your home village. Unless you installed any local airfields you would need to enter the exact co-ords to fly over it.
