what really scares me is that as soon as I opened this thread MTV put on an add for the Osbournes:

Those "MiGs" were infact repainted F-5s, prolly too expensive to do anything else, and based on when the movie was made, I doubt they could have gotten their hands on a real MiG-28. Tongue

i think they HAD some MiG-23 and MiG-21 at that time but they didn't use them to prevent general panic (soviets are attacking us) in the area where the were filming

Russian planes: IL-76 (all standard length ones), Tu-154 and Il-62, Tu-134 and An-24RV&&&&AI flightplans and repaints can be found here

I don't think the americans would've shown off secretly captured/bought/smuggled russian jets in a movie. The soviet government wouldn't have been too impressed during the mid 80s!!
