Flaps....umm....Never? (Read 271 times)

Anyone noticed, the AI planes wont use flaps for takeoff, no matter what, they use them for landing and all, but I have yet to see any plane ever use them for takeoff... Anyone know if they do that in 2K4 as well? I'm sick and tired of flapless 747s having better t/o performance than my 737 lol. Tongue

Based on the number of posts you've got behind you, I'm sure you're aware that the reason for this is to preserve some framerate integrity....too much detail would kill your fps...

Great edit, Bob.&&&&&&Google it. &&&&www.google.com

Yes I am aware of WHY they did it, but did they do it in 2K4 also? I mean I have a pretty damn good graphics card, get real high FPS anyways, so it shouldn't kill it to bad.

Also though, like I said, they deploy them on landing as well, doesnt seem to hurt the FPS at all for me, no spoilers or reverse graphics, though... You can hear the sound of them if you stay close (which is suicide with AI flying anyways  Tongue )

I always keep the flaps up and scare the piss out of the people at the airport by pulling up at 120kts in C172s  and climbing at a very steep angle (Sort of like the AI!)

Lol, I use flaps by the procedure only, lol, no 747s taking off with no flaps on a short field.
You know, 747s dont seem too big till you think about it, it takes two miles to take one off Shocked

Full to the brim!  I didn't even think about that!  I could probably get off the ground well before 5000 ft with 1/4 tank and lower altitude!
