Okay, I'm getting frustrated. lol
Here's the problem. Can someone talk me through the solution for this POSKY 747 one step at a time?
Also, note the hit my fps took...I usually get right up around 30 (with it locked at 30)...what's that about? lol

I would guess your saving it in the wrong format. Download a repaint tutorial (Whitey has done some splendid ones) and see what you've done wrong.
This is all I can advise at this time.

Nope, it's only a problem with POSKY planes. I've gone through a ton of tutes on painting, and I have no problems doing that. lol
Usually if you save in the wrong format, it comes out a solid grey, almost as if it were made out of clay, on a rainy day, in the middle of may, what do you say...okay I'm getting carried away...grrr stop it!

In a related story, I can show you what it's supposed to look like, if anyone would like to paint it for me. I've been battling this thing for months and I'm ready to throw in the proverbial towel. lol

Did you try the Posky recommended method of saving without Mips? It's usual to save out in the same format as the original textures.
PS. Check this out.

Yep, did that too. lol In fact, I've been in regular comm. with one of the guys over there, and he's been talking me through his "fix", but it didn't work either. lol
This is about the 8th time I've painted this plane, hence my willingness to give up. lol

Normally I would be pleased to have a go if you told me which aircraft & sent me your repainted textures. After a recent HD crash I ain't in the mood. Sorry.

Nah, that's okay. I'm just going to have to try it out on a non POSKY (boo) aircraft. lol
It was eating my fps anyway, so it's really no big deal.
Hagar, got any suggestions on how to get a texture down to white so I can repaint it? I read somewhere that you can do something by copying and pasting as a new layer? That didn't make itself clear to me...any thoughts?

Which graphics editor/paint program are you using? Garry J. Smith's tute should show you the basics.

I just looked through that tute. Not sure it covers layers. Try this.
