Hey! I have three parts of a single aircraft (wings, fuselage and engine bell) in different Gmax files. How can I transfer two of them to the other one? I looked for a way to "copy" to the clipboard, but couldn't find one. If this is impossible, I'm going to be very angry with myself. Seven or eight hours of work down the drain!

Read about "Xref Objects" in your Max User Reference under Help. It explains how to move objects from one scene to another. Try it in a blank scene till you get the hang of it. It is really simple.

In Gmax as with the other Discreet modeling programs, copy- paste only works with text info, not 3d mesh.
To copy inside Gmax - use the clone tool.
Xref is a left over from working with large complex files like AutoCAD.
To get 3d objects from one Gmax file into another you want to use the "merge" tool. Under the file menu click on Merge. A window explorer style window will open. Browse until you find the file that has the parts you want. Select the file and hit open. A window will open up and it will have a list of all the object in that file. Select the object you want, leave unselected the ones you don't, and click OK. The parts will be merged into your "scene" in the exact position they were in, in the file they were brought in from.

its easy just merge the part you need from the other file !
There is a 100pixle wide, and 10kb large, size limits on Avatars.&&&&Thank you for doing your part to make this a better place for all who visit by observing these guidelines.
