I had to choose Heavy Metal, although I like all types of music, Metal is my favorite, not the gay radio metal either, I'm talking about the real heavy stuff you will never hear on the radio that gives you a headache and makes no sense! The heavier the better.

As with other polls of this type, it is impossible to make a poll to accurately represent the varied amount of styles out there.
If you like Rock, do you like Country Rock, Classic Rock, Mood Rock, etc...

Being a music student i know how varied the styles are. You cannot simply say - rock - and get one style because there are just too many, the polls only let u have 6 options so if u like country rock well choose rock, if u like neoclassisicm choose classical. . .

..it's nice to see that so far there is only "one" vote for head-banging, finger-wagging, trouser-hanging, wooly-hat-wearing, mostly-posing, dread-lock-dangling, car-door-destroying, speaker-cone-tearing, un-inteligble-wording, monster-rapping, etc, ...all courtesy of Jamaica and surrounding areas...

Hi Craig......!
I'll tell you what...
Forgetting modern "Rap", ...something which used to be popular in the 1970's was Reggae...
Now that I liked..."I can see clearly now..", by Johnny Nash...etc...
Good for dancing to, as I remember from my dancing days, long ago...(and even now I can dance grooves on the club floors..)...
...!!
Imagine Fozzer playing his Fender 'Strat and dancing at the same time...?
Now there's a sight for sore eyes...

LOL...LOL...LOL...!
Cheers Craig...!

Rap has nothing to do with Jamaica .. ignorance my dear fellow - you're mixing it up with reggae
US black music is unique. Gospel & the blues were just that & have been the inspiration of a huge range of music from the Beatles to Eric Clapton- & rap is an extention of the blues ... You obviously know nothing about it

Not necessarily, you have stereotyped Christian music in to that category already.
Christian Rock music is the best. Go and listen to bands such as Switchfoot, Relient K, The Lads, Third Day, Jars of Clay, The Newsboys, DCTalk, Tobymac, Tait and you will find that it isnt all Hallelujah stuff as u put it.
Specially like:
Relient K - Failure to Excommunicate
- May the Horse be with you
- Foward Motion
- Getting into You
http://www.relientk.com
- have a look for urself!
The Lads - Ode to Joy
- Hey Flower
- My Forever Smoochy Girl
- I'll Leave the Looking
http://www.theladsband.com
In fact sometimes you forget your listening to it because it is like any other music and you just don't realise.
So don't be a skeptic about something you havent even bothered to listen to. In fact there is another Christian punk band called Antiskeptic! I'd much prefer to listen to some person sing a punk song about how God is saving the world than a punk song that is saying there is no hope and we should all die die die.
Sorry bout the long post but you asked for it.
PolyN
P.S Jared - Real Praise and Worship is completely awesome as well!!!

Hi Poly...
...!
Christian music...
...?
I don't think you will find that your '747 flight from Brisbane to Sidney will be diverted 'cos "..'im up there" is running a pop concert with the Heavenly Band of Angels accompanied by a Harpist ensemble sat on puffy cumulonimbus clouds...
...!
NAH...!
When you get as old as I am, I'm afraid you will realise that "Praise be to the Lord", "Glory Haleluiah", and all that malarky, will not stop you, me, the flowers in your garden, the 'roos jumpin' around outside, etc, etc, from finally ending up as nothing more than "compost"....!
Sorry to dis-illusion you mate...!
I'd stick to heavy rock music if I were you...
...!
Have "fun" down here while you can, 'cos there's nuffin' after that... 8)....!
(There are no such thing as "Faries, "After-life", and all that "stuff"..)...
...!
...trust me...I'm a Scientist... 8)..!
LOL...!
Cheers mate...
...!
Paul...crazy Strat' playing atheist... 8)...!

P.S. Strat' plugged into the Marshall amp, valves glowing, deafening the neighbours, banging out "Brown Sugar...."... 8)...!

Amen Poly! You are right about praise and worship being the best! That is basically what the Newsboys newest CD Adoration is about, hence I have not taken it out of the CD player in my room, and my truck since I got it back in March! Makes for a pleasant day anyday!
And Fozzer I'm ashamed to say that I know you...have you listened to some of the good stuff? Or are you judging this topic on your atheistic viewpoint, or are you focusing on what you heard back in the 50's?
lol...Just picking on ya...we all have our own viewpoint...

...!
(England).
P.S. Strat' plugged into the Marshall amp, valves glowing, deafening the neighbours, banging out "Brown Sugar...."... 8)...!
...that's what I call REAL music...
...!
Nothing anyone can say will dissallusion me. I believe in God and that's it. I believe Jesus died for the sins of this world and because of him I will oneday join with him in heaven. Being a scientist Fozzer I though that you would before anyone understand how wonderful this life is and that there had to be an intelligent designer behind it all.
So I'll stick to my Praise and Worship and Christian Rock Music and continue to praise the one I call Saviour.
Ask questions, Im sure you will be surprised with the answers I have.
Cheers
