hi,

what do you think, are my specs good enough to handle FS2004 with (almost) all the sliders set to the max?

my specs:
MSI KT3 Ultra2 motherboard
AMD Athlon 1800XP
512DDR mb ram
GeForce4 Ti4200 128mb
40GB HD @7200RPM

jep,it certainly is.

i use an duron 1,2ghz, a 9700pro and 512megs of DDR-ram.
FS 2004 runs smoothly in 1024*768 with medium to high settings,4*AA,6*anisotropic filtering and a traffic add-on.

Hey Silent, with that spec, I'd really ditch that duron! You'll see a massive improvement.

Ok, Ok, I know I've got a Celeron, but, in a like manner, I've recently tried a 2.4ghz P4 in my machine, It boosted my 3D Mark scores by 110% !

Alas, CFS3 still stuttered !!!!!  Cry

We both seem to have relatively good kit strangled by rather  crap CPU's.  Wink

Ditch the Duron. I was thinking about buying a Athlon XP 2000 which adds about 750mhz to what I've got now. It also has a 266mhz FSB which is a plus. I've seen it for $119 but I bet I can get it for lower if I phone a bunch of local computer stores.

I only pretend to know what I'm talking about. Heck, that's what lawyers, car mechanics, and IT professionals do everyday.
