I have suddenly discovered that I no longer have GPS display in any of my planes, not even the default aircraft.
All I get when I click the GPS button is a black display where the GPS should be.

I downloaded some planes over the weekend that replaced some of the guage files, now I get the incompatible third party software error on start up that specifies the Guages/GPS.gua as the messed up file, obviously this was one of the files that the recently added planes replaced.

How can I fix this problem? Can someone send me the working GPS.gua file?
I tried restoring my computer to before I downloaded the planes in the first place, but that didn't help.
I also searched the FS2002 disc's for the guage files and couldn't find them.

I only download planes from the FS2002 download area, so this really sucks, it's the first real problem I've had with third party software.

Thanks for any help you can give.

I am ready to make my trip from Tehran to Baghdad, but will be grounded until this problem is resolved.

Yep, that fixed it, I appreciate your help Baron.

Wow, that was a little scary, but I figured there would be a simple fix.
Normally I just say 'yes to all' when adding new guages, and after adding 300+ planes to my program, this is the first time I have had a problem like that.
Needless to say, I will be keeping a closer eye on what is being overwritten in the future.

If I knew for sure which plane caused this problem I would let everyone know, but I took on several new downloads over the weekend, so it's kind of hard to say.

Paz. If this does happen again you can extract GPS.gau from one of the CAB files on the CD with WinZip.

It's a good idea when installing gauges to paste the individual GAU files into the FS2002\GAUGES folder. Open the gauge folder included with the download , click Edit/Select All & paste them in. If you're not sure, always click No if prompted to overwrite Files/Folders.

This is the problem I have with auto-install programs/utilities & any advice to extract zipfiles direct to the sims.

I looked for them on the disc, but I guess I wasn't didn't know what to look for. I was looking for a file like the one in your FS2002 guage folder.

Thanks Hagar, hopefully this won't happen again, but now maybe I'll have a better idea of what to look for on the original FS2002 disc.
