I can't be perfectly sure, but I think most of the planes (especially US) in WWII had the nose-art on both sides of the nose.
I have noticed this from looking at numerous pics etc.
Of course, that doesn't mean this particular one does, but....................................for what it's worth......
Sorry I can't be more help.

Ace, see if this helps....I'm not finished looking and will get back to you when I exhaust my search.....these are instructions for attaching decals to a plastic model, so I'm not sure how accurate it may be.......... 8)

The second Mustang is "Frenesi" P-51D-5-NA 413318 as flown by Lt. col. Thomas Hayes of the 364th FS, 357th FG in 1944. This Mustang has a dark green upper surfaces..... a red and yellow prop cone with red and yellow checkerboard around the nose directly behind the prop. There is lettering on the left and right side of the engine cowling that says "Frenesi". A second set of the "Frenesi" text decals is supplied for the right side of the engine cowl....although it is not certain if this plane had the "Frenesi" text on the right side.....no pictures exist. There are 85 bomb mission markings on the engine cowl above the word "Frenesi". On the side of the fuselage by the cockpit are kill markings for 2 Japanese planes and 9 German planes. The undersides of this plane could be gray or baremetal....depending on which source you listen to. This plane also has D-Day stripes going across the bottom side of the fuselage directly behind the wing and on the underside of the wing as well as a single stripe on the top side of the wing.
