HOW MANY GUNS DID THE NIEUPORT 28 HAD? (Read 345 times)

im working on this model of the nieuport 28, and i cant seem to figure out the right amount (looks like 4, two on the sides and two in front of the pilot) im focusing on Eddie rickenbaker's nieuport..... Grin

It had 2, but they were both on the right side of the aircraft.  Also, I think I should point out that Rickenbacker very rarely flew the Nieuport 28, he usually flew a Spad XIII.

The photos I've seen show the two guns mounted - 1 in front of the pilot, offset to port (left) from centerline, and the second gun on a small "shelf" just below the port (left) cabane struts.

The Nie.28 lasted only 4 months in service.  The French rejected it for service (nasty tendency to shed it's upper wing in high G maneouvers) so they were provided to the US....

Here are basic specs on the Nieuport 28......it shows 2 guns, although they aren't identified on the 3-view, I did find this image showing placement........

Whoopse, for some reason I thought it was on the right side.

uhhmm...Rifleman, where did u get that pic??? (the three views) they look very useful, and it says there they can be enlarged... Roll Eyes
