i think the artical says it all.
i remember being on a flight from DTW TO LGW and there was an air marshall found out about 2 hours in he stood up was in front by few seat, he opened his jacket and let me put it this way aint no one gonna get far with the weapons he had:)
certainly makes you feel safer.
and now they are getting rid of them.
ladies and gentlemen i give you the TSA
and i dont want this to go into a political post please

Yeah I heard about this, budget cuts or something.
You can't argue with not having the money to pay people, but there is the security aspect and peace of mind to consider I suppose....
Tough call, I wouldn't want to make it.

Well news reports say that they will most likely not attack buildings or landmarks. Rather blowing up aircraft on takeoff. Think of having a couple of guys with box cutters vs 200 scared, dangerous, and terrifed passengers. Along with an armored cockpit door. Those terrorists would be taking a one way ticket out the front door without a chute.

i do admit they are almost destined to be flushed down the crapper if they try but the problem is, if they were to say buy a first class ticket, and manage to sneak a gun on board, there is still a possability they will get to the cockpit, and i have heard that some pilots still dont lock the door. where theres a will theres a way. i am not really trying to dwell on it as a definate and obviously i dont want it to happen,
i think the biggest of worrys are sports arenas as targets. if someone did get a plane, and was near one of these venues, alot of people are gonna be in trouble. one for instance is the pyramid, its right alongside the flight line for memphis intl and if its got an event there are some 18,000 people inside, could a building like that withstand a hit without being completely destroyed?? serious question by the way

The doors are now bullet proof and they have to keep the doors locked at all times of the flight, no bathroom breaks either.
