ok first of all i have decided to add my first addon plane to cfs3 so i downloaded the b17 and unzipped to aircraft and put weapons in weapons and guns in guns and go to quick combat and there is no b17 in the list of american planes or any b17 at all what did i do wrong please help

Are you sure the file is CFS3/aircraft/b17 and then the files? And also do you have the CFS3 patch installed?

Got to the file in the B-17 aircraft folder marked B17G_MollyII.xdp and open it with notepad.

Change the name of the aircraft. so that the first few lines of the xdp look like this.

<UnitData>
<General Allegience="0" LongName="Boing B-17G" ShortName="B-17G" ModelName="B17G_MollyII.m3d" BlastDamageScale="1.0" ImpactDamageScale="1.0" FireDamageScale="1.0" Priority="2" Type="moving" EnteredService="07/07/1943" LeftService="12/1/1957" BlastDamageMod="1" ImpactDamageMod="1" FireDamageMod="1" Category="level_bomber" Country="usa" AllowSpawn="y"/>

I had the exact same problem and this solved it.
