When I try to load the 747-400 that comes with FS2002 it causes FS to hang.  I can see the picture of the Global Freightways 747, in the Create a flight window,  but the egg-timer stays on the screen and I have to Ctrl-Alt-del out of FS.  I have reinstalled the software but it still doesn't work. ???

It may be that your Virtual Memor low and it's just a case of waiting a minute or so before it comes up

Is this the only default aircraft that the simulator has problems loading?

Also, have you changed anything in that particular aircraft like added a 3rd party panel?

Hi

Thanks for your responses.  It doesn't matter how long I let it try and load, FS2002 still hangs.  My PC is a pentium 3 with 256mb of ram; it runs FS2002 well (apart from this).  I have downloaded a couple of aircraft but haven't changed the setup of my 747; this problem has been occurring since I first installed FS2002 and before I added the additional aircraft.

Thanks

What OS are you running?  With only 256mb of RAM, I'm suspecting this could be the weasel behind the problem....

XP requires 128mb to run, which only leaves 128mb to run F$....
