When I fly the Asia Series by Yoshi, the sim returns me to my desktop in the middle of the campaign mission.  Also when the mission says that the goal has been changed, the sim returns me to my desktop when M is pressed.  Any ideas on how to correct??  This only happens with Asia Series.

In the Asia series you're probly flying from non-default bases.  For advanced info to work you have to make entries into the airbases.dat file for any non-default bases you or any AI planes are flying from. Wink

1.
There are several possible causes for this error.
I doubt that the problem is up to airbase.dat file.
I had a similar problem with the swordfish-campaign.
Some of these problems were because no british advanced_info_screen was defined
in the "uires" folder and no entry in the Country.cfg for that.
But nevertheless at two missions (the Rotterdam and the Dunkirk-Mission) the error occurs.

2.
I have made the entries in the airbase.dat-file for Japan-Islands,Malaysia,Phillipines and Taiwan.
The Problem that the Programm breaks down when you use the M-Key or "Advantged-Info" in the Briefing
still exists.
Furthermore the "Mission Builder " just reads in the bases until runway Nr 236 (In my case Bagabag).
This base is in the "Mission Builder" at the wrong place.

The entry in the airbase.dat file:

[runway.234]
id=18340
name=Philippines-Bacolod
heading=0
allegiance=0
units_across=2
base_lat=N10* 38.71'
base_lon=E122* 55.74'
base_alt=0
takeoff_start_pos=100,0
takeoff_stop_pos=1600,200
landing_start_pos=5000,350
landing_touchdown_pos=600,0
landing_stop_pos=-250,0

The same  position is in the "Trainings Flight"-Menu, so I can start in the game from the right position.
But in the "Mission-Builder" the base is at position:

base_lat=N10* 38.71'
base_lon=E120* 55.74'

The real Problem is that the MB doesn't read any further entry.
Has someone an idea ?
Are there any limitation's for the number of airbases ?

Thank you for your answers.

evildwarfesq. This problem is almost certainly caused by missing Airbases.dat entries. These should be included in the instructions with the campaign.

David. Yes there is a limit. I'm not sure of the exact figures but 236 seems rather a lot. The easiest way over this would be a duplicate install of CFS2 specifically for your Asian campaigns.

This FAQ page from the Fox Four site might help with these sort of problems. http://www.simviation.com/lair/cfs2kwfaq.htm

If thetre is a limit, I dont know what it is, cause i have 250 entries in one of my airbase flies and it works fine.
