The 'Ercoupe' was the first airplane I ever sat in.  I was about twelve and it actually had two 'fins' (in 12 yo terminology) on the back just like a Lightning!  There were two at my small hometown airport and I snuck a sit in one.  If you like, there is one available here for download.  It has and always will hold a special place in my heart. A couple of years ago there was a Ercoupe fly-in into Kissimmee (FLorida).  I arrived just as it was over, and most had gone.

Interesting little plane - roll-down windows, and (standard) no rudder pedals, although many have since been converted to "normal" configuration.  For a "classic", they're relatively affordable (one was selling for about US$17,000)
