You still have to pay duty!
Ends up the same!!
I won't be getting '04, I don't see anything I need!
I fly GA on short hops and a lot of bush, and CFS2
a lot!! I have all the planes they are adding and
use very lite clouds and don't read the signs anyway!!
Very happy with FS2002PRO and CFS2!!!!
Rather Fight than Switch!!!!

Ender,
What you are dealing with is the exchange rate issue. The South African currency is worth about 1 /10 of what an American dollar is. So $80 in the USA is $800 in SA.
I work in the ski industry teaching skiing in the winter. We have some South Africans who come over. When they get a piddlin' $10 an hour here....... IF they save it as much as they can...... that is the equiv. of $100 and hour in their currency. THAT is why they come here <g>.

I think there is a lot of life left in 2k2 yet. I look at what has been done overall to enhance the sim and its amazing what's out there. I'll never get to it all.
A while back I said I'd forgo COF for 2006 and a system upgrade and that still stands. Nevertheless I'll be watching the 2004 forum with interest and preparing myself for the inevitable huge range of opinions offered on its success or not as the case may be.

FS2002 Pro only cost me $30.00USD after the mail in rebate, that's the kind of deal I would wait for before even considering FS2004.

While were talking about bargain basement pricing, would anyone like to sell me their dusty, obsolete copy of FS2000? It cant be found anywhere here, but Id like to have it for the scenery files to add to CFS2
To bad I cant make a living out of this, but it would probably kill me.

Well, if anyone is stuck waiting, let me know and I'd be glad to help out. In a few days I'll be able to go and buy copies off the shelves and I'm sure we could work out something. Just e-mail me or PM me and let me know. It would involve sending me the money, but I think I'm a pretty honest guy...

Well, FYI, I pay around 4000 in my local currency. That's more than a month's salary for many people in my country. But, I think FS2004 will be worth it.
I don't represent M$. Then why the name M$? Simple...I like what they make, especially FS!

As a CFS fan, I never saw the frill of a non combat sim at all. However, CFS3 screwed my system (that's my system that far exceeds the recomended specs) so I binned it and, when Just Flight lowered the price of 2K2 early this year, I got a copy and it's just about all I fly these days. I've only had it six months so I still have lots of sights to see and things to add to keep me interested with 2K2 for quite some time yet.
I made a mistake with CFS3 by getting a copy the day it hit the shelf before waiting to see what everyone else had to say about it. This time around I am going to wait until at least next year before I even think about buying ACOF. By them M$ will have patched all the bugs (yeah, right) and everyone will be happy (yeah, right!) and there will be lots of add ons to keep me ammused.

Just a random thought that popped into my head here.....
The title of this thread is "Way of the Dodo".
In Japanese, "The Way of" is appended to the end of the name. "The Way of Tea" ...meaning the tea ceremony..... is "Chado". "Cha" is "tea". The way of the warrior is "Bushido". And so on.
So this thread could be renamed..... Dododo.
.
OK...OK...... I'll go get some sleep.
best,
