You know, I was just cruising through this forum, and I noticed everyone's solutions to problems with 2002 is 'HERE COMES ACOF!' This saddens me to no end.
Everyone now will be flying '04 and I will be stuck here with '02 (not being able to afford it).
I can see that flying '02 from now on will be like those who only have 2000. Not really in the loop, but still wishing they were.
I guess I just have an affinity for my current version, but I will someday upgrade (maybe when the price drops).

Don't know about anyone else but I'm not all that impressed with what I've seen of ACOF, a few new effects and some vintage birds.
If 2k2 dies out I'll probably drop out of FS....... did I really say that
.
Put it this way, if I get ACOF as a present then I'll be happy but I wont buy it. Probably for the best anyway sinse all this time infront of a computer can't be good for my eyes, I don't wanna kill of my chances of the AAC or RAF.
I can see what your saying though about being out of the loop, but if you look at CFS2 and 3 CFS3 didn't kill CFS2, as there are things that CFS3 simply isn't capable of. Such as carrier landings, my favourite FS pastime

I understand what you are saying, and I would assume by your financial status that you're still slugging it out as a youngin' . . . .
When I was a kid myself and I wanted something aviation related real bad (ie a lesson) I hopped on my bike and pedalled to the local airport (KBVY) and walked around offering to wash planes. Its one heck of a tough job, but the owners appreciated it and soon began asking me to wash theirs again when I was just hanging out watching landings. back then the $15-$20 I got for washing a cessna went a long way. I can't see how you wouldn't make that today and have money for the game after 4 planes.
You'll learn something about planes too . . .besides that they are a pain to clean!

You think you've got it bad. I actually want it, and it'll probably be at least 4-6 months after it comes out before it turns up in Hungary! Geographically challenged are M$
I'll quite happily muddle on with 2k2 though. A lot of people say one model gets rid of another, rubbish. People are still making new stuff for FS98 and CFS!!!
Also a lot of peoples PCs won't be up to it either... It'll be a good year or so before ACOF takes a hold over the community as a whole, by which time most people will have got over the showing off their new toy stage, and the rest of us will have upgraded our PCs. Patience my young apprentice...

I wasn't going to get CoF, in fact, I was dead set against it. But after reading some reviews, and seeing some AMAZING screenshots, I've changed my mind.
Plus the whole issue of taxiway signs didn't hurt matters any. lol
I'll still keep 2K2 around though...never know how much CoF will end up sucking. lol

LOL,don't worry, that was a 'cheap' MS product. XP Pro cost me 3800 and Office XP another 2400.I agree, they may as well just hold me up at gunpoint and take all my money.lol.

Muddle through my FS2K2, HELL!
I love my '02.
I don't foresee any problem with affording it, but, I'm just going to wait to see what bugs surface, and see how they're handled.
Being "The First On My Block To Own One" just doesn't interest me.

I won't be getting COF for a long while as I know my system wouldn't really cope. I am lucky to get 20FPS with 2k2 so I can't see the point. I can see the problems that exist with 2k2 but I can live with them and work around them.
You want dynamic weather? Pause your flight and change the weather.
You want an IFR flight plan that allows you to change altitude? Cancel the current one and talk to yourself for the next ten minute, or hour or whatever.
My point is that this is a simulator and not the real world, it is all make believe and thus a tool to allow us to "play" in the purest sense of the word. A four year old will experince the same level of realism with a cardboard box with wings attached as we get from a £1500 computer and a £70 piece of software. Use your imagination and carry on as you are.
I will get enjoyment from seeing screenshots of the new software but I am jealous of what some people can do with 2k2 already, it is sometimes hard to believe that it is the same game on my system as for example Ramsa's. So even if I got COF I know it would look nothing like it does on the screen shots for me.
Just the ramblings of a tired person.

He said 1000 bucks. Does that mean USD? If so, you could have ordered it from M$ and had it shipped. Much more cost effective . . .
