If its done on FSHost, all you will need is, FS2002 running and Multi-Player engaged with the IP number of the person hosting, then you can join as an observer.....

Thanks. I really want to see this! I've checked out the screenshots and all that has convinced me of is that I will remain a regional commuter pilot the rest of my days Sad
Only kidding Grin
Looking forward to the show Smiley Smiley

sorry i didn't reply earlier to this thread...i just discovered it!  Roll Eyes

i'd like to join with the B-1B...and maybe i can find a pilot from our VBW to do a refuelling display. i also like to join with an F-16C which is avialable here at Simviation...it's up to the organisation to make a decision.

when will the event take place? i'm free till september.

where will it be? i'd take an airfield with a long runway such as Fairford, Mildenhall, Edwards,...places were they have big airshows in real life.

on VATSIM? don't know if that will work for me...still having some probs with it...i think it has something to do with DX9...

don't we need to make those files (forgot the name) so everybody can see the planes, even when they haven't installed them on their own pc?

Wink

I don't think EirePlane has set a date yet, but I think he's looking quite a ways in the future.  It sorta took off without him,  ya know?  lol

As for VATSIM--I think that has been ruled out just because it would require ATC to close a significant part of airspace, and we're trying to avoid that.

And what's this talk about a way to make everyone see everything?  I thought the only way to do that was to put that plane in your library...

Will that work in regular VATSIM multiplayer?  That would make life so much easier and better in the VA world!

Lurch, drag your a** in here and help!  lol

I think Lurch mentioned the files name as .csv earlier on. It could come in real handy.
The show is being held at heathrow due to the large area for parking and the 2 large parallel runways
I'm hoping to have it ready by a few weeks time.
and to those who haven't signed up yet but wish to take part then please sign up now at http://fsairshow.tripod.com

EirePlane...what were your thoughts on the commentary I suggested?  Should I practice flying or putting together ads for VA's?  lol

personally i was thinking about a military base with one large runway and lots of ramps. when there is more than one runway...people can take the wrong one by accident...or eg at Heathrow, you can't really get all the planes at a row because of all the terminal buildings...

by the way...the runway(s) must have an ILS, otherwise it's difficult to navigate with lare jets who need lots of space to make their turns...

Like I mentioned before-I am prepared to close FAJS if we want to use VATSIM.

The file is called CSL (the csv file is the squawkbox file that interacts with the CSL).

Will this CSL file work while I'm flying, say regular old flights on VATSIM?

And just so I'm understanding correctly, it allows you to see everyone else's planes without stocking them in your library?

As for VATSIM, I missed that post.  Hopefully EirePlane will see it, as he is the one organizing the event...

Hyperion,

If you are on VATSIM then you are using some version of CSL-since you don't know what it is I assume you are running the default version.CSL stands for Common Shape Library-it is the simplified aircraft that you see when online.Being simplified they cause less of a framerate hit.

Latest CSL:http://www.ai-uk.net/VUSN/NAEC/Downloads/CSL_mil_3d.zip

Yet another reason why VATSIM is the leader in online live ATC.

(As if I needed more.)
