Well I did go to hanger 3 last night and there she was. I went over her thoroughly and was up until about midnight. I packed all my gear and hit the sack. Tomorrow would be a big day
When I got to the airport this morning, the boys had already taken The Robin out and had her sitting in a parking spot for me right next to The Coast Guard Chopper. It was a pretty cool sight.
OK...here we go. I did my pre-flight checklist and was ready to "start her up"! As the prop started to turn over, The Robin came alive! I think she was happy to finally meet up with me!
I viewed all the guages and all seemed to look good. The engine purred like a kitten as I re-checked all the instruments.
I then glanced up to see that I was being told that I needed to move, an Air Rescue Chopper would be landing soon. I signaled to the guy and knew that at this moment, my excursion was about to begin. It was late afternoon and My 1st destination was a place called Crooked Lake. It is about an hours flight through the canyon. I needed to get a move on anyway.....it would soon be dark and Crooked Lake is a VFR flight. Don't want to start off badly. Anyway, this little flight promised to have some nice views I was told!
I closed my canopy and asked for clearance to take off. The tower told me to taxi to the active and wished me "good luck"!
As I passed by the "Air Angels...When the Mission is Critical" sign,....... I said a little prayer that I would not be needing them!
As my aircraft and I moved closer to the runway, my mind raced with excitement.
Here is where I leave, and who knows when I will return.

Nice stuff!
I don't look at screenies any more.
Most are too large, I don't like to
wait 10 minutes to look at them!
This one is just right!!
about
30 seconds to load!!
Thanks

Thanks Guys.. since I will be posting this entire trip of mine and don't care about the # of threads, I am keeping all posts to under 500k..... Those are the rules anyway and we should all try to adhere. Hell, I am on dial up also X. (Maybe after this house extension I will be able to afford braodband!)
Hopefully all will be able to see the posts quickly. I will just keep posting each part as I travel. I must say, so far this has been exciting and somewhat "real". I actually look foward to what I will be seeing.
Thanks again and hope all of you check in from time to time as the journey continues!!!
Just a note: A cool feature of this Aircraft is "The moving Head". When you move the joystick to the right or left, the head turns to the right or left. Same thing with up and down. Looks really cool when flying around!

Thats fantastic Dave!
Looks like you are going to have fun on this trip! I just began the prep work for an excursion of my own...I gave up the Around the World attempt as I just do not have the time anymore. Instead I will be doing a Cross-Canada trip instead. I too am going to post my trip in the raw screenshots forum...
Have fun and I will be following your trip closely!

Thanks Dean.
Should be fun now that I am going to my 1st destination,.....The Bush!!!
Got a ton of Add ons and look foward to seeing them for the first time when I get to each airfield. I also downloaded the 16 meshes of Alaska at Avsim, each at around 40 to 50mbs!!! (cousin has braodband!
)
The scenery should be great. Glad you are following!
Good Luck on your Canadian trip. Maybe we can meet up with Ken at Vancouver Island for a few beers!!

Dave, when you get here, we can do an online session which I will host and your dial-up will allow you reasonable mulitplayer, as thats what Ozzy and I did under the GG bridge....he was on dial-up for that session which I hosted....now I can get better screenshots of it all too......
