I just installed this Crash Damage for FS2002 V3 and deliberately went straight into a Jet in front of me on the runway to see what happens and all I got was a little bang, not even that really, and a green bar running along the top of the screen which said "Collision detected" is that it? what's wrong with it? anyone know of a decent crash/damage package?

I don't make a habit of crashing of course but just wanted to see what happens, so far its pretty pathetic.  Roll Eyes

Make sure you've got your crash damage enabled.  To do this, you can go into the CFG file and insert the line manually, or (my personal recommendation) go download CrashBak (the most recent version) and do it all.

Otherwise your visual damage won't show up.

Eyelevel,

Sorry for the confusion.

CrashBak enables the internal fs2002 effects.
CrashFx are the new effects.

thanks,

Hello chaps

Hyperion and Grant,

Thanks, I think it may be working after all, as I crashed the cessna on purpose yesterday evening and I saw on one side of the Aircraft a smallish orange glow (flickering) now that did'nt happen before I installed the program

So I'll have to try it out with a larger aircraft, as I guess with a Cessna I won't get massive fireballs LOL

Cheers guy's

Hello Eyelevel,

Try a preview to see fireballs/craters in a cessna.
What you are seeing are the internal fs2002 effects.
The preview function will let you see the new effects.
thanks,
grant

Okay, I have downloaded CrashBak2 and CrashFX, but when I click on "Preview CrashFX" I get the box telling me to press yes to order or no to preview for 5 minutes.  I hit no and then another box pops up saying choose yes to purchase, choose no to continue.  Hit no, nothing happens.  Startup FS and no new effects.  What gives?

Hey....check out the Raw Screenshots forum where I've posted a screenshot of my Corsair on a rainy Chicago day.  Wanting to put up some physical evidence (from a non-biased point of view) that this thing works, you'll see a pretty cool crash shot, complete with blast crater.

The original crash I did was substantially better because I took off a wing, spilling fuel everywhere, but I didn't get a good capture of it, so I had to do it again.  This one still had a good fireball though, I just didn't get it in time.

Anyway, it DOES work, I promise.   Grin
