First my specs:

Athlon 1.2G
768MB DDR
GeForce2 MX 400 64MB (running ver.31 drivers I believe, from what I hear the last driver that supports my vid card with no problem)
60MB IDE Western Digital (29GB free)
MSI KT4V Motherboard (I think...haven't cracked it open in awhile).
Windows XP Service Pack 1
DirectX 9.1

FS2002 Profesional

When I go to install:

When I start to install the first time, the install will either have trouble reading SOUND.CAB or AIRPLANE.CAB. It will halt and I'll go back to the main setup menu. Start install again and it will (seem) to install fine.

However when I try to start the game, a window pops up (MSDOS window presumbally) and disappears. The window opos up and disappears too fast for me to see what it says. And thats it. No starting. FSEdit will start fine. The desktop shortcut for FS2002 lacks the proper icon. It's a blank program shortcut like it can't find fs2002. To make sure it knows where the EXE is, I do a "Find Target" and it finds the path fine. The EXE in the main folder lacks an icon as well, while there are icons for FS98 and FS2000 with their flying plane icons, FS2002 has a blank window icon.

Does anyone have ANY idea what could be wrong? I'd really like to start flying!  Embarrassed

3 times I believe.

What bothers me (other than not being able to play) is the main program icon not having a "picture", like its bad.

Have you tried taking the FS key out the registry? That probably is corrupted and is where your problem is.If that doesnt work try format.
