Hello all,

As you all probably know I've been complaining about the Flight Video playback being jerky, well I've been experimenting, I have now turned my resoloution down to 800x600, and play the Sim like that too, now just for curiosity only, I took a flight, with all settings maxed out (now bear in mind I have all the PAI Airlines installed) and I was getting frame rates in the region of 66/71/77 in the Cockpit view, and in the external view I was getting around 35 to 40.

Having said that the Flight Video frame rates were the same on playback (but I suppose that's normal/forgive me if I talk crap but I don't really understand much about the technical side of PC's! lol), although the scenary was still shaking as I watched my flight.

My question here is if I were to uninstall the PAI packages, and just download a few aircraft of my choice, does the Sim use those as AI Aircraft, aswell as me being able to fly them? I'm just thinking of how to stop the scenary from shaking during playback. I stress though that I don't really want to get rid of the PAI as its terrific, but if it has to be it has to be  Sad Sad

Sorry to keep on about the same thing but I want to get it sorted, and this is the only forum I know of and don't fancy joining countless forums for the same Sim.

The sim won't automatically use them as AI...but you can add AI flight with TTools.  I have made a tutorial for TTools. Wink  http://www.simviation.com/lair/Ttools1.htm

FS only has like 3 or 4 airlines with heavies, and a few with the De-Havilland.......is it called that? That is it. TTools takes patience if you want to add as much as 5 new aircraft. You have to make plans for them, etc. Thank you PAI!

Your LOW frame rate was 35 to 40 fps??  There are dozens of people who would KILL for that!

The human eye can only detect about 30 fps or so.  If you're still getting that, then your system is fine.

You can detect 30fps (28 ) but you cant see every frame, you miss frames thats why you can see a difference if you play it at 30 frames or when you play it at 60 frames.

To be perfectly honest, FPS don't really bother me so long as I have a smooth gaming experience, it was just the Flight Video that made me mad, but I've given that one up as a bad part of the Sim (for me anyway)

I just fly and then whilst I'm going in the right direction and don't need to turn or whatever I then switch to the external view and admire the aircraft/scenery that way.

My PC seems to be ok when I push it to the limits and yet when I cut back on settings the performance deteriorates, weird but true it seems.

I've stuck PAI back in and well I'm leaving well alone for now!  Smiley

The tutorial says 'Go to the heavy gate and you should see the Lufthansa 747-400.
Sit beside it with your Communication radio set to the ground frequency.
At 6:00:00 you'll hear the 747 requesting taxi permission. Follow it and watch it take-off.'

Is there any way I can follow the aircraft<without actually flying my plane besides it>and watch it land in another airport?Maybe that's asking for too much.

I don't represent M$. Then why the name M$? Simple...I like what they make, especially FS!

CTRL W.......opens up a new window, with an AI aircraft on the little window.....keep pressing CTRL W until you hit the one you want. Pretty cool, it just hits FPS because FS is loading your screen and the part that the AI is on too.
