Hi all

Here we are again with another free, finally finished, fantastic aircraft at our website for your downloading pleasure.

It’s a mighty B25H Mitchell, originally designed by Eric Noveskey and his friends.
This bird features 8 forward-firing machine guns plus a howitzer cannon.  That’s besides the dorsal turret (for a potential 10 machine guns facing the front) and the waist and tail guns!

Although we have included the original Eagle Beak nose art, we’ve released this plane with a standard olive drab snout – we felt that the beak was a little “gaudy”.

Anyway, Mr. Noveskey has made a magnificent model – besides the guns, this baby packs bomb-loads including light, medium and heavy bombs and an internally carried torpedo.  The bomb bay doors open nicely too.

Enjoy it – it’s one of our all-time favourites.

Ah and again we ride the B25HD http://www.geocities.com/war_rooster1/
At least he could have changed the name in the .cfg file after he painted it.

Well well.  Dear Mr. Redneck.

You do realise, don't you, that we host other peoples' planes and give them full credit.  We do so with their permission and often, as is the case with that B25, their thanks.

That's why we don't rename stuff to ours.  It's not our plane.

I wonder how you could have missed this when you've obviously been to our site where we clearly state that we merely host and modify, not create.

By the way - the link you've provided is not the plane we've re-released.  I'm wondering first, whether you've actually thought before you've posted. And secondly, therefore, what is your reason for posting...

Dude i dont care what you do first off. I just wish you would have renamed it so it would not clash with other aircraft  when someone trys to add "Yours".

I do know that the B25HD Mitchel was posted back in Nov. 2001 at www.geocities.com/war_rooster1 and many many repaints have been made of it. One just lately. http://www.simviation.com/cfs2aircraft65.htm  PBJ-1 "Devil Dog"

"By the way - the link you've provided is not the plane we've re-released.  I'm wondering first, whether you've actually thought before you've posted. And secondly, therefore, what is your reason for posting..." ya i thought about it for like an hour for i was trying to see two aircraft of the same name.

Here ill copy and paste my post here again so u can reread it and maybe that will anwser your reason for posting.....

"Ah and again we ride the B25HD http://www.geocities.com/war_rooster1/
At least he could have changed the name in the .cfg file after he painted it. "

Dont know where u got it, dont care where u got it.

"we have included the original Eagle Beak nose art" By the way that paint is from (498TH BS, 345TH BG, PHILIPPINES) wonder if that was the repaint of the plane from back in Dec of 2001? That was so long ago. I also see it fires TWO 75mm cannons (fictional) and not One as it should.

Who knows? Who Cares? Not I!!!

All i said was I wish you would have at least went into the .cfg file and renamed it. Even in your post you called it another name "It’s a mighty B25H Mitchell", and at your website its called yet another name "The B25 Gunship". You could have renameded it anything say, B25 Gunship or BlueBird or any number of names. Ah hell you really dont have to rename it now do you?

Like i said and ill say it again I DONT CARE WHAT U DO!!!  Do what i do and that is what I want too do.
Your tone is so abrasive, light'en up dude, dont go off the deep end over this gee. You seem to think this is my work, hell i was just posting another link to a wonderful addon. I just wish you had renamed it so it would not CLASH with others addons made before yours. It is a good thing aint it?

Capt. Redneck, I see your point.

Yep - changing the name might help those who had already installed a B25 with the same name.  Got it.

Mate, I just felt your post had a bit of a "put down" tone to it.  You know, "Ah, and again we ride...", to me sounded like, "These guys think they're doing something special when it's been done before".  When you said "At least they could have changed the name" to me sounded like, "These guys are claiming it's theirs."  I see now why you thought we needed to change the name, I just wish you'd said why in the first place.

Anyway, I guess it was all just a misunderstanding on my part.  Too often I see people complain on forums and it bothers me when somebody complains about something that's free.  I always think to myself, "Well if they think they're good enough to criticise, why don't they get off their cans and provide something better themselves?".

Well, Capt. Redneck, that'll do from me.

I despise "flame wars" on forums but I do take exception to just one thing you replied with and which I can't see how I misinterpreted.  You told me to lighten up and that my tone is too abrasive.  Every forum user knows that using caps is yelling and, so, bad form.  When you said I DON'T CARE WHAT U DO!!! (3 exclamation points) well, I just felt that you were the person who needed to lighten up.

I hope that's it for this little discussion.  I also hope that you enjoy our work.

All the best  Wink

Hi Hawk..just read your comment about no credit for your re-paint. I went and downloaded your fine PBJ-1 Devil dog and had a look at the paint job...It's certainly very good but your plane is blue and ours is green and very differently painted...If someone out there has done what took me many hours to do then I appologise for doing the same job but I can assure the nose job was mine.

No, the B-25 I'm talking about is in addition to the Blue PBJ-1
I also did the 1 under it, the green 1
http://www.simviation.com/upload/B25J-11.zip
the credit reads:
***********************************************
CFS2 B-25H 498th Bomb Squadron "Flying Falcons" This isn't the easiest plane to line up on target, but ooohhhh when it does... 10 forward firing .50 cal machine guns let loose with incredible firepower; plus the "kicker"- a 75mm T13E1 cannon. Complete with 2D panel, VC with gauges, 75mm sound files, an included mission, 5 bomb loadout configurations and all the raw firepower you can handle while still being in an actual WWII aircraft. "Built by Committee" by Charles Simpson, Graham, Eric (Capt_Smirnoff) Noveskey, Anthony (Gramps) Sullenger, Kevin Bacon, and DWalter (Deeds) with special thanks to Martin Wright and Paolo Kromberg. 2.6MB
But if you open up the zip file it says different, & I also edited the air file Text description Mine should read  as follows:
***********************************************
CFS2 B-25J-11:
B-25J-11 (s/n 44-30852) 38th BG / 71st BS P.T.O. Okinawa August 1945
Almost 60 years after these planes flew, most people have long since forgotten about them.  The young crews that flew these bombers were up against horrific resistance from enemy fighters and ground fire.  They persevered and became part of the sands of time that make up history.  As "Simmers", we have a special place in our heart for the historical side of life and the different planes of the USAF from B-25C's to B-25J's...from the Pacific War to the Mediterranean theater of operations to India.  Paint schemes range from Jungle Green camo to Desert Sand camo to natural metal.....there's even one plane that flew from Okinawa in 1945... Hi Hawk

Stiaan here.  Mick wrote the last reply to you as he actually does all the work on the planes.  I mostly help test them prior to re-release and maintain our website.

I’ve downloaded (via the link in your post) the B25 you retextured with the Emergency Strip nose art which is indeed quite cool.  In your “original notes” folder, however, the readme there was modified by us.  Your downloadable file seems to actually be our re-released one.  Did you perhaps add the Emergency Strip nose art to our blank nose?  Also, by the way, we noticed that the fuselage roundels on your re-paint are upside-down.

I’m really, really confused.  At first I thought that you had, like Mick did, removed the beak from Mr. Noveskey and Co’s bird and that you both wound up with the same blank nose.  Mr. Noveskey, incidentally when we wrote to him for permission to host his plane replied that he actually was mostly involved in the texturing himself and that the other guys would be grateful with our “treatment” of their plane.

Then, after downloading your one, I saw our readme (we actually refer to ourselves in it).

Could it be, that somebody got the B25 from our webpage, added your Emergency Strip texture to it, then uploaded it to Simviation?  We never upload to anywhere but our own site.  If that’s the case, then that explains everything.  Naturally, then, there would be no mention of you.  That means that that other person has not credited you and is indeed, a dirty bast*rd.  By the way, that Simviation file is not one of our “one-step-zips” so they’ve screwed with our file too.

Could you please help us out?

We always give credit where credit’s due.  That’s why we link to the original author’s notes and include them with our downloads.

Mate, we’re not having a go – this is not meant to upset you or anybody else.  It’s probably just a misunderstanding (see my previous correspondence with Red Neck LOL!).  We just want to get everything right.

All the best

Stiaan

Lot's of B-25 Versions, I personally Like the B-25J-11 best
it was more like an A-20 Havoc/A-26 invader:

The US Marine Corps ordered 255 B-25Js under the designation PBJ-1J.

The transparent nose with its bombardier could be replaced at the factory by a solid nose that was equipped with eight 0.50-inch machine guns. With this modification, the aircraft was designated as B-25J-11, -17, -22, -27, -32, or -37, depending on which production block the modification took place. With its maximum armament of eighteen guns, the solid-nosed B-25J was the most heavily-armed attack aircraft in the Allied arsenal. Sometimes, however, the package guns on the sides of the fuselage were deleted, the remaining fourteen guns being more than enough forward-directed firepower.

A few years back at an airshow i meet a tailgunner of a B25H/field modified, that was stationed in the fareast in ww 2.

After a few meetings to talk war he had said that there main 75mm had went out on one of the planes and was replaced with two of the cannons that were in some old P-39's that had been bombed out but cannons were useable.

He also said more ground kills were made after the modification that with the 75. He has passed on, and i really injoyed the short time we had to chat and hear how things were. When asked what was the worst thing he remembered "mostly the weather and bug". War is Hell.
