Hello, They are absolutley great shots, especially the one of Sydney.

RIC, What resolution are you running in and what are the rest of your system specs and what kind of performance do you get?

Thanks

Hi guys, thanks for the replys thus far,

Ok, the Cape Canevaral scenery is all default. The are two launch pads, one with a shuttle on there, one without. The preperation hangar is also rendered, as is the road connecting them all.

Orenda635, I'll get some shots of CYYZ to you, but I'll email them, I don't want to hog Pete's bandwidth.

Regards,

Ric B.

Those really are fantastic...  When is Microsoft going to learn how to make cliff faces?  The mountains always look like rolling hills...

Sorry, I should have posted these earlier. Basically, if you can run FS2K ok, the FS9 will run as good or better. One thing to remeber here though, it's still a hughe memory hog, and running the Garmin GPS can hurt the framerates.

Important system specs are as follows:

Dell Dimesion 4550
Intel Pentium 4 2.4Ghz processor
512MB of 266mhz RAM
nVidia Geforce4 4600 Ti graphics card (128Mb)
Dell OEM motherboard running 4xAGP and an Intel 845PE chipset

The res I'm running at 1280x1024 in 32 bits of colour, 4x Anit Aliasing and 8x Ansiotropic filtering.

My FPS is locked at 25, and I get this most of the time, except when in very built up areas, where it can get down to about 11-15. Bear in mind this is with all the settings maxed in FS9.

I know this quite a high end system, but you will be able to acheive a better look with FS9 than FS2K2 on your current machine, whatever it may be. This isn't like the jump from FS98 to FS2000.

I hope that helps, if there are any more questions, post them up.

Regards, Ric B.

Erez,

Sorry, I was trying to demonstrate what FS9 can do. By no means to you need to have a supercomputer to run the sim, I'm sorry if that's the impression I created.

As I said, if you can run FS2002 to a level you like, the FS9 will run, at the very least, just as well. In fact, it might even run better! I will say however, that it does seem memory heavy, but at least memeory is the cheapest part of your computer to upgrade.

What annoys me the most is that I spent my money on a Gamecube, an extra controller, a memory card and the Smash Bros game......dammit I want to go back in time and never spend my money. Dammit! Angry

Acually, better you didn't. I did what you were going to do and the stupid thing didn't work. I got a GeforceFX 5200 instead, works great even though it took three weeks to be delivered, two of thoes I expect were at the border waiting for CCR to clear it.

I only pretend to know what I'm talking about. Heck, that's what lawyers, car mechanics, and IT professionals do everyday.
