You're right, It is a CFS 2 file. I dug into my Zips last night and after much searching I found it. Again, if you want it, I'm not sure, but I think I got it here. It might have been at Avsim or ol' No Nodes.com . My question is, how do you repair it other than zooming in and out. The detail is awesome. The file name is FD_TomahawkIIb.zip

OK. I'll try to track it down & check it out. FD might indicate the Fightertown Design Group. They're exclusively CFS2 which would confirm my theory. I don't remember them doing a P-40.
The Cat is an extreme example but I'm sure this explains the "problem". It's the aircraft itself, not your system, video card or drivers.

Nothing you can do. The number of models & distance variables are defined in the MDL file. Most CFS2 multi-LOD aircraft would be set up differently & it's quite possible this one was released before FS2002. It might work OK in FS2004 as that (yet again) has different graphics engine & zoom values.

I looked a little deeper, this is one of the 1% aircraft designed by Avhistory.org. Here's the link...

OK. I finally tracked it down. Downloading it now to check it out. It's just possible it's an older FSDS1.x design in which case I
might
be able to tweak it with Tcdfsview to improve the display. I'll let you know but don't hold your breath.
Avhistory usually improve other designers' work & don't do the original designs themselves.

Latest update. I checked it out in FS2002. It's definitely a CFS2 multi-LOD design & looks just the same on my system. The good news is that it's an FSDS1.x design & tweakable with Tcdfsview. The bad news - no luck so far with the usual tweak but I'm more used to CFS2 aircraft. This would be time-consuming as it's a matter of trial & error.
You might like to have a play around yourself. Download Tcdfsview here.

Use it to open the MDL file & experiment with the zoom values. The higher the zoom value, the smaller it will display in the sim on the standard zoom setting. I've already tried the zoom 7 & zoom 10 values which usually work for this sized aircraft. Don't go higher than the default zoom value of 16.
PS. There's no guarantee this will fix it. You could spend hours messing around with no luck. It might be better to find another P-40. IMHO

What's the web address for that Catalina? Best one I've seen. Will have to convert it to float though.

They have lots of nice stuff. I have their CFS3 P-40 and their French Dewoitine for CFS2.
I only pretend to know what I'm talking about. Heck, that's what lawyers, car mechanics, and IT professionals do everyday.

I think it's a true amphibian, meaning it already floats.
