Trees and lights have black boxes around them (Read 143 times)

Hey all... New guy here!
I just installed FS2002 and I am getting black boxes around trees, lights, some buildings, as well as some sections of terrain is multicolored (as in rainbow colors).  I am also having system crashes where I get the screen that asks me if I want to report the error to Microsoft as well as complete system reboots.

I have turned things off in my system tray, set my color to 32 bit, completely de installed software.  Defragged my drive and reinstalled the software.

My system: AMD k7, 700 mhz, 256 meg memory, running Win2K pro.

(FYI, I installed this on a DEL 733 with 256 mem, Win2kpr0 and it works fine, so I suspect the software is fine, no corruption.)

what video card do you have? I was having the same problem until I re-installed older Det4 nvidia drivers. if you do have a geforce card, I suggest the 40.72 drivers.

i installed the new nvidia det drivers and was having those same exact problems, nothing would work except installing earlier drivers. i have a geforce 4 ti4600 and the new nvidia drivers seem to be made and tested mainly for the geforce fx cards.

if you don't have a geforce card, sorry Smiley

Thats the one part of my system I cannot remember the details on.  I'll pull it tonight and see if I can figure out what it is.

Your suspicions are probably correct...   Don
