I tried to download "real Weather" today but it kept coming up with a box saying "The System could not find the file specified". actualy it might not be a problem with my FS. I see that Active sky 2002 couldnt get the weather either.
Possible server down?

Its not been working for ages. There are alternatives. Personally I use Weather Maker by
www.calibresoftware.com
which is a random weather generator. Its really good, and surprisingly realistic and accurate.

I read somewhere that the payware version of Activesky had to be updated due to a change in the weather fomats, I assume that they didn't bother updating the freeware version.
But i'll have to use to downloaded weather within FS2002, as I can't stand not flying without real weather

I believe I
might
have found the problem. FS2002 was not the only program that would not connect. I have a program called "weather Bug" that could not connect. It gives me up to the second weather info.
I found out that if the Bug does not connect, one thing is the go to Internet explorer>>tools>>>internet options. Delete the Temporay files. For some reason this fixes it.(BTW I dont use IE unless I have to)

You mean the Jeppsen weather server, that FS2K2 connects to?
I've been using Real Weather more than ever, lately. I haven't had any trouble connecting, loading or using it. It updates itself normally and everything.

Its working now, but I am hoping that FS:COF can duplicate weather better. I down loaded real weather at about 2pm EDT. I then flew out of Corpis Christi, TX heading to Houston, TX in my WC-130 ( Theres your hint) All I got was rain, broken clouds and winds at about 35 (no gusting winds). I should have had winds over 75mph! Oh well, guess I'll just deal with it

Ha!
I took that trip yesterday evening, in my USAF Reserve C-130, Weather.
Actually I went quite a bit South, into the Gulf looking for some really bad weather, and couldn't find any. Plenty of clouds, but that's it. Try leaving Corpus and fly East towards Galveston.
