They were talking about something very facinating on the news yesterday. Canadian discount airliner West Jet will be offering something a little more than old movies from three years ago on its flights. Passengers will soon have access to over 300 channels as West Jet is going to install  Bell ExpressVu satellite TV on it's airliners. One American airline already offers this service, I forget which one. Air Canada is also interested in the idea and will begin installing the new system once it emerges from bankruptcy protection. I think this is a great idea because it gives people more freedom and a more relaxing atmosphere abord the airliners. Also with proposed longer routes, it could end up being quite popular.

You can read West Jet's press release on the subject at

I only pretend to know what I'm talking about. Heck, that's what lawyers, car mechanics, and IT professionals do everyday. Jet Blue Airlines here in America offers personal sattelite TV's for every seat. I have flown on Jet Blue's brand new Airbuses and you plug in your headset, change the channel and there you go. It was the 1st time I wished the flight was a little longer so I could finish watching my program. LOL
You can also go to Channel 1 and see the Aircraft's speed, altitude, heading and a map with a pic of the air craft and where it is!! Really cool.

Here is what coach seating looks like!!

...

See that little round "hump" on the back of this plane....that is the sattelite receiver. It is on a floating gyroscope and is "locked" to the sattelite signal. I flew from NY's JFK to Tampa Florida and not once did I lose any reception!

You gotta love technology!!
