What would be nice is a program that you can view a 3D rendition of the textured model and see the changes as you repaint.  I can already do that with FSDS source files with VAS, but I still have to respawn the model, etc.

I'm trying to repaint an F/.A-18A+ in the colors of the CAG aircraft and getting the stripes aligned on the side is a pain in the butt...  I could take an fsc and repaint it, but then, I'd have to complete the animations, etc.

I agree this would be a great help for repainters. The textures on my own designs tend to be assigned in a particularly haphazard fashion & I defy anyone to figure them out. LOL

I'm no programmer but I'm sure such a utility would be possible. I can think of an existing one that wouldn't need too much modification to do something similar. I suggest one drawback with the idea is the resistance from some members of the design community on giving away too many of their secrets.  Roll Eyes

Hi fellas, I'm here again...lol

I dunno if you're familiar with other sim games besides those that are avation oriented, but I have a game (uninstalled at the moment) that's a racing sim (NASCAR 4).  There is a preview window in that game's paint editor that showed the entire car in 3D.  Something to think about...  maybe some programming guru could think of something similar?  See ya again soon I'm sure.. hehehe.
