(Johnston Atoll) I just thought this airport was really cool. It's totally by itself. 710nm away from nearest land/airport.

Are you out flying that way or just curious. There aren't many options in Oceania. Check your next airfield prior to departure there are a few 2000' coral fields waiting out there for the unwary Lear jockey!! Grin

If I was going to fly to the ocean with no charts or anything, I would definitely take one with floats. The De-Havilland or Cessna Amphibian. I tend not to care about my fuel gauge so I wan't to land in the water while I shoot some flares. Grin
