I think what people like me object to is the way "Hollywood" changes history to suit the audience. U-571 is pure fiction but I'm sure the majority of Joe Public will believe it's based on fact. I have the same problem with so many of these "doc-dramas" we see on TV.

What p***es me off about this is just what Hagar said. Most people who see this will think this is the truth. As WW2 gets further away and the pople who served become fewer and fewer all we have left to tell the truth is what is left behind. Books and films.
I consider this crap a slur against the good, brave men who carried out the real acts of heroism and gave us all our freedom. Sadly that freedom also allows people to come up with this tripe and pass it off as real.
