I like to start a post on who like which card game the most and why.
Rule:
1. No talk about poker cards (unless you have anything bad to say about them
).
My favorite game is a Tactical Card Game and it is also considered a collectable card game (CCG).
FIRESTORM
Why?
1. It is purely a Science Fiction CCG.
2. It is made only for those with a military mind.
3. This is an adult's game.
4. There are no cuddly creatures or any Yu-Gi-Yo or Pokemon-like charactors in this CCG.
What is it about?
It is about battling other players for total domination of the cosmos. In this game, managing ships, heros and resources are key to a player's success.
What it's consisted of?
It consists of 4 different kinds of decks. Each deck represents an Alien race in which its controller (player) will also represent. The aliens are (in order of strength, from top to bottom):
1. The Muero - A rutheless, merciless race in which their sole purpose is to dominate every corner of the cosmos with BRUTE FORCE. This deck will remind you of the Klingons.
2. The Dysori - They are as deadly as they are beautiful. This race consists entirely of female warriors. Don't be fooled by their looks. If you mess with them, they will go through you like a hot knife through butter. They rely mainly on building large numbers of small, but powerful ships that nearly equal the strength of the Muero's. The Muero purely hate the Dysori.
3. The Humans - These people have now entered into a new global renassainse after living through its dark and violent period of history. They rely mainly on building their technology and fleet to overcome the Muero threat. Because of it's high richness in precious Resources (in large quanitities as well), the human's solar system is the Muero's prime target of conquest.
4. The Soven - An extremely ancient race that wishes only to be left alone (they're isolationists). But since the Muero covet (jeleous) Soven technology, the Soven are now threaten and must make allies with the Humans and the Dysori in order to survive and prevail.
Types of cards:
1. Planets
2. Ships (fighters included)
3. Heros (with special abilities)
4. Support - divided into 3 catagories (Installation, Retrofit, and Gear)
5. Alien card - this is the one card that will represent the player's alien race.
6. Advatage (only one card of this is allowed for every player)
7. Tactical
8. And Fate cards
This CCG also has an interesting storyline in which Tournaments play can be based on as well.
For regular play, you need only 50 cards (not counting the Alien card). But as for tournaments, you need 60.
There is really no limit as to how many cards you can have on your deck.
