Hi guys!

Sorry for my bad english, im from Austria Roll Eyes

I have a few problems with the performance of CFS 3.
I already have patched it to 3.1a but the performance isnt as good as it should be, i think Smiley

Have you got a few tips for me, what could i "tune" in the "CFS3config" file (memory, filters, and so on....)

My System specs:

P4 2,4 GHz, 512MB DDR Ram, WinXP home with all fixes, DX9.1 i think, Geforce Ti 4200 with 64 MB, onboard sound.
My overall graphicdetails are at point 4, exept plane details at point 5....

thank´s for all tips,
best regards and watch your 6

Manuel

Hi, thanks for answer! Wink

My major problem is, when i shot on planes, every hit on them, my system stutters for short,  the same is when i´ve been hit. But i think, its no CPU stuttering, my opinion is, that there are problems with the systemmemory....

P.S. I run it with 1280*960 at 16bit, at 32bit, it stutters much more and 16bit looks nearly as good as 32bit in CFS3

Your English is good enough. I wouldn't worry about it too much. The Terminator is from Austria and he could very well be the next Governor of California.

Most Americans do not worry about bad accents or poor grammar. We have very bad grammar and accents ourselves. Just ask the Brits about what we do to the Kings English.  Wink  Grin

Wie geht's Manuel,

Looking at your specs I see you have onboard sound.  Try adding a cheap soundcard (you will need to disable your onboard sound in the bios if you do this)...CFS3's performance is partially linked to sound.

Try running clouds at 1..they still look good

Also you could try RAMSA's or RAAF_Shep's tweaks available here.
cheers,

Tony

Hi,

Forget about 32bit  16 is good enough ! Drop the clouds down to 1(as mentioned earlier in thread ) buy some more ram (Win xp eats ram - I know I use it as well) turn the lighting off and shadows and reflections as well.

I keep the aircraft settings at 5 and every thing else at 4(or lower)

But the important thing is ram - I only got it working well when I installed 768mb

And Oso its the Queen's English................................. Grin

Sorry, fraid not. I am aware that there is a Queen on the Throne. But the term is "Kings English" as stated.
Have heard the term used many times over the last 50 years and it is always the same.  Tongue

Manuel, you might also try getting into the properties of your onboard sound and setting the sound accelleration down one notch from full to standard, it made a difference on my machine.
